The Iowa Department of Corrections is dedicated to helping individuals become productive members of their communities upon release. With nine institutions and eight district correctional services departments, the DOC oversees the care of approximately 8,200 individuals. The department also supervises about 30,800 people in the community on any given day, ensuring public safety and rehabilitation.
