About

Big Grove Brewery was established in 2013 in Solon, Iowa, by three partners: Doug Goettsch, Faye Swift, and Matt Swift. Built on a philosophy that "you have to give people a reason to leave their living room," the founders created a destination that offers more than just beer. Their collaborative approach centers on delivering high-quality beer, great food, and genuine care for the community. In 2017, Big Grove expanded significantly by opening a full-scale production facility and taproom in Iowa City, which earned platinum green certification. The original partners continued leading the company while bringing on additional operating partners for locations in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and beyond. Big Grove ranks in the top 3% nationally for barrel production. The Iowa City Taproom features a full food menu alongside their craft beer lineup, with free brewery tours offered every Friday at 5:30 PM. The brewery has diversified into spirit-based seltzers and other innovative beverages while maintaining their commitment to quality and community.[2]
