About
The Clermont Public Library has a rich history dating back to the early days when libraries were uncommon in small towns like Clermont. The library was initiated by Mrs. M.A. Loomis and Mrs. Anna Larrabee, who recognized the need for a library in the community. The first library collection was started with many books, and by 1939, it had grown to 800 cataloged books. The Town Ladies Aid played a significant role in establishing a public library, with a committee formed to investigate plans and costs.[1]
